Demanding 13 Month Old

Ziah is 13 months old. We are at the stage where we have to cater to her and what she wants or ELSE! She is so "demanding". Ziah wants what she wants, but on her time. We have to take turns engaging her or the house is in an uproar.

We can't believe she's 1 year old already! Joe and I constantly talk about ways to get more control over her demanding ways. So far, we haven't figured it out yet. But, I still continue to search for ways to encourage direction for our 13 month olds temperament. We never experienced this kind of demand with the other two, so much of her behavior is new to us.

Her behavior is even more strange because Ziah is very much independent if she is outside in the yard exploring. She wants nothing to do with anyone who may try to control her moves. Its so different when we're inside. She forces all of us, including the 6 year old and 13 year old to abide by her rules. She demands all of our attention, grabbing onto our legs and holding on and wanting to be held everywhere that we go in the house.

I know there's a solution, just haven't found it yet. Until then, we will continue "coaching" Ziah and encouraging her to seek her independence both inside the house and out.
